Dr. Harmon's work at The Glaucoma Foundation

Excerpt from
The Glaucoma Foundation web site, © copyright 2007:

Dr. Harmon has long been an advocate for public education about glaucoma and for widespread glaucoma screening. He has produced glaucoma-awareness public service announcements (PSA’s) that have achieved national distribution on television and radio. As the result of one PSA with actress Kitty Carlisle Hart, thousands of Americans received free literature about the disease. Dr. Harmon has also conducted glaucoma screenings among groups at high risk for glaucoma in the New York Metropolitan area and, to raise glaucoma awareness, conducted glaucoma screenings among high-profile populations such as the New York Yankees and Mets, and in large corporations. He has written patient educational guides, contributed to textbooks and medical journals, lectures frequently on glaucoma/cataract surgery and is the author of a new book, “What Your Doctor May Not Tell You about Glaucoma – The Essential Treatments and Advances That Could Save Your Sight” (Warner Books, 2004).
